<p>Peet's Coffee major dickason's blend deep roast, whole bean (32 oz.) has been a berkley original since 1969. Fans love it because this coffee has a rich, spicy, complex and multi-layered flavor offering smoky, toasty notes and a deep, chocolatey sweetness. The degree to which coffee beans are roasted is one of the most important factors determining the taste of the coffee. Before roasting, green coffee beans have a grassy smell and little or no taste. The roasting process transforms them into the crunchy, aromatic beans that we recognize as coffee. The age, processing method, grind, and brewing method also affect the taste, but the roast level provides a rough guide to the taste you can expect. Light roasts have pronounced acidity and a toasted grain taste, medium roasts exhibit more balanced flavor, aroma and acidity, and dark roasts will generally have a smoky taste. • Flavor and Roast: Dark Roast. Chocolate, hazelnut, smooth crema. While many of our coffees make an excellent espresso, we crafted this blend specifically to have stout body, rich flavor, and perfect crema.
• Brewing Methods: Use fine ground coffee for espresso at home. Coarsely ground coffee (consistency of coarse sea salt) can be used to make cold brew or a French press. Use a medium grind (consistency of sand) for drip or a pour over in your Chemex.
